Some Thoughts on Enterprise Goal Creation

When creating goals for an enterprise concept plan, it is helpful to first identify the areas or parts of your enterprise.   With the main areas identified (This can be anywhere from 10 to 20 areas) Then you can create the main goals for each area.  Often 2 to 5 goals are helpful to create for each area.

Some General Considerations for all Goal Creation

• Be specific, state what you intend to improve or achieve

• Is it Measurable?  How will you know you have achieved your goal?  How will you evaluate your    goal?

• Is your goal attainable?  Your goal must be with in your control, something that you can influence.

• Is it relevant? The goal should have significant and logical connection to improving or starting your enterprise.

• Is it timely?  Set a realistic deadline that is not dependent on others unless they are part of the process.
